博多中島町で提灯屋を営んだ伊藤家（屋号・菱屋）に残されたもの。箱の底にある墨書から、福岡藩士・味岡團兵衛からの贈物であったことがわかる。海外からの輸入品とも考えられるが、弘化４（1847）年に博多中島町に開設された、藩の精錬所でのガラス製造との関係もうかがわせる。〔第37回新収蔵品展〕
