Acting on with corporate principle, "Pola seeks to contribute to the prosperity and advancement of society through its work in the world of health and beauty" in mind, the Pola Orbis Group has founded the Pola Research Institute of Beauty&Culture (est. 1976), the Pola Foundation for the Promotion of Traditional Japanese Culture(est. 1979), and the Pola Art Foundation(est. 1996) over the years. Through these organizations Pola seeks to further the research, dissemination, and promotion of Japanese arts and culture.

故鈴木三郎名誉教授寄贈、博物館所蔵から成る４００点余りの錦絵資料。蚕織錦絵は主に蚕の孵化、採桑から製糸、製織、布選びに至る一連を含んでいる組絵や多くの工程を1枚にまとめたものを指しますが、ここでは各作業が単体で制作されたものも含んでいます。 蚕織錦絵の原点は楼璹（ろうちゅう）が南宋の皇帝高宗に献上した「耕篇21景」及び「織篇24景」からなる「耕織図」にあります。これを基に橘守国が描いた「絵本直指宝（ねざしたから）」が制作され、多色刷りの勝川春草と北尾重政による12枚一組の「かゐこやしなひ草」、喜多川歌麿による「女織蚕手業草」へと連なります。さらにこのモチーフは多くの絵師によって明治期まで用いられることで、様々な錦絵の様式を内包し時代ごとに変化に富んだ作品が見られるのが特徴です。 「蚕織錦絵」という用語は製糸学を専門としながら、学生時代より錦絵の収集を続けてきた故鈴木三郎名誉教授によるものです。私家版「絵で見る製糸技法の展開」は種本の引用などを指摘しつつ、近代錦絵の描写や製糸場図面資料、古写真を含めながら江戸期から明治期にかけての製糸技法の変遷について考察しています。 本デジタルアーカイブの構築は、合同会社AMANEとの連携により実施されました。

国文学研究資料館所蔵の古典籍を中心に原本から採取した蔵書印情報を、印影とともに一覧するデータベースシステム。他館の画像DBを参照した蔵書印情報や『近代蔵書印譜（初編～五編）』をはじめ数点の蔵書印譜からも印影等を収載。採録対象は、いわゆる蔵書印に加え、仕入れ印や貸本屋印を含む書肆印、蔵書票・書肆票の類、また、写本等で作成に関わった人物の印記や書画等の落款に及ぶ。

明治時代は「掛図」を用いて授業を行っていました。本資料は明治35年に印刷された植物学の掛図であり、本学工学部前身の東京高等蚕糸学校において授業に用いられたと考えられます。また、高等教育機関の掛図教材は手描きが多い中、石版印刷による多色刷りの掛図であり、国内での植物学の確立と普及体制が整っていく様子が見て取れます。 教育掛図は時代と共にスライドなどに置き換わっていきました。現在において、掛図の現存資料は貴重です。
