Description
本資料は、筥崎宮の境内から発見された、仁王般若波羅蜜経を写した36枚の瓦経の一部である。瓦経とは、仏教の経典を瓦ほどの大きさの粘土板に刻み、焼いたもの。人々は来る末法の世（仏の教えが衰える乱世）に備え、仏の教えが失われないように願い、瓦経を地中に埋めたと考えられている。〔第36回新収蔵品展〕
