医薬・農耕の神として信仰をあつめる神農を描く。神農は中国古代の神話に登場し、人々に食用に適した植物を教えるため、自らあらゆる草をなめ、効用を確かめた。一説には日に七十もの毒にあたったという。洞秀67歳時の作で、最近制作年が判明した。〔No.616 石里洞秀〕
