Description
Written in 1605, by Haneji Chōshū. The first official history of the Ryukyu Kingdom. Written in Japanese language, but mainly using the Chinese date system. It’s used as a resource to examine information regarding China, such as for information on the emperor’s decree, documents, records of the Chinese envoys, etc, for information on relations with Japan the “Ryukyu Shinto Ki” and “Nanpo Bunshu” are used. Furthermore, the theory that the first king of Okinawa, Shunten, was the son of Minamoto Tametomo, was taken from the Hogen Monogatari and has been stuck to in the history books which followed since.
