Oniwaka Rikinosuke 鬼若力之助おにわかりきのすけ

Description

江戸時代の相撲界では、地方から巨人や怪童を集めてきて、一人土俵入りをさせる興行があった。鬼若力之助もその一人で、上総国武射郡（現在の千葉県山武市）の出身である。鬼若が怪童力士として初土俵を踏んだのは1850年11月。添え書きには当時八歳、身の丈四尺(121cm)、体重十八貫目(68kg)あったと書かれている。こうした子ども力士の多くは、その後正規の力士とならずに引退したが、鬼若は明治5年3月に入幕し、明治7年には「勝ノ浦与一右エ門」と改名し、明治16年5月まで場所をつとめた。最高位は東前頭筆頭。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums

　The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. 　JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
