Ewer with Handle in Shape of Dradon, Brown Glaze 褐釉龍耳水注かつゆうりゅうじすいちゅう

Description

広口で、胴が張り出し、短い注口が付いた水注。この形の水注は、典型的な唐三彩より時代の下った時期、8世紀後半の作と考えられる。しかし素地、釉は唐三彩と同じであり、生産地も河南省鞏義窯と考えられる。唐三彩は8世紀前半でその生産を終えるが、その後実用器としての三彩の製作がおこなわれたとされている。この水注が明器なのか、実用の器なのかは検討の余地がある。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums

　The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. 　JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
