Portrait of the Time in the Eve of Festival: Nightwatch Tano 宵祭当勢姿 鉄棒引たのよいまつりとうせいすがた かなぼうひきたの
Description
「宵祭」とは祭日の前夜に行う小祭のこと。また「鉄棒引」とは金棒引（かなぼうひき）ともいい、鉄棒を鳴らして警固・夜番にあたる人のことをいう。この女性が手に持つのがその際の鉄棒であろう。肩からは祭りにちなんだしめ縄飾りが下げられている。そして女性はひと仕事終えた後であろうか、首元の汗を拭っている。本図は三代豊国（国貞）の最晩年の77歳の作。この年、喜寿を迎えた三代豊国が新たに用いた「喜翁豊国画」の画号が記されている。画号の枠には初代歌川豊国が使っていた「年玉印」を応用した「年玉囲み」が用いられる。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums
The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
