Description
明治７年から栽培が始まったりんごは、県下全域で栽培されており、長野県で最も栽培面積・生産量が多く、県民に馴染み深いくだものである。全国に先駆け、小さな木で実をつける「新わい化栽培」を推進するとともに、品種は「ふじ」が中心であるが、信州生まれのりんご３兄弟（「秋映」「シナノスイート」「シナノゴールド」）など多くの優良品種が育成されている。
