Description
田能村竹田が描いた大画面の花鳥図屏風としては唯一の現存例。46～47歳にかけてのごく限られた期間、竹田は大画面の障屏画に集中的にとりくんでいます。墨の外隈による大きな月を背景に、墨の没骨で柔らかく雁をとらえ、対照的に鋭い墨線で芦を描く。余白に刷いた淡墨の霞が、画の叙情を効果的に高めています。 文政6年1月、息子太一と門人高橋草坪を同道させた上京の途中、犬飼（豊後大野市）の幸氏の陶写楼で描かれました。
