Description
高取焼は江戸時代初期に誕生し、茶器は福岡藩の名産品であった。江戸時代の中ごろから西皿山（現 早良区高取）で生活用品を製作。明治時代以降は日用雑器や置物、産業・建設用具など幅広く製造。井戸用ポンプには木製に次いで陶器が用いられ、大正時代以降は鋳鉄製のものもつくられた。〔第37回新収蔵品展〕
