福岡藩士・西川家に伝来した四条流の伝書。西川家は、豊臣秀吉・秀頼父子に仕えて四条流の庖丁道を相伝し、大坂夏の陣後に福岡藩主黒田家に仕えた家。西川正次は四条流庖丁道をもって黒田家の饗膳を取り仕切り、歴代の当主は福岡藩の御料理人頭を務めた。〔第37回新収蔵品展〕
