Description
三笘家は、江戸時代中後期の博多で、山笠組立ての棟梁を勤めたる傍ら、御用絵師上田氏に学び、博多から藩に献上する山笠図なども描いた。この山笠は博多石堂流の掛町が仕立てた山で、古代の中国の江南地方にあった国・越での凶賊退治を題材にしている。〔第36回新収蔵品展〕
