Description
中世博多の街並みを中心に、西は荒津山から東は筥崎宮までを描く。縮尺を度外視して帆船を大きく配す点や、実在が不確かな「袖港」の名も金紙に記す点から、絵の主題は「貿易で栄える博多」という都市イメージと考えられる。縁に使用痕があるものの、かつて本図が飾られていた場所は未詳。〔第36回新収蔵品展〕
