亀井南冥の孫娘・亀井少琹（友）が描いた竹の絵に、広島の儒学者で歴史家の頼山陽（襄）が、絵を誉めた文章である賛文を書いたもの。この年に頼山陽は、亀井派を援助する豪商松永氏などに博多に招かれ滞在し、小琹の父・昭陽など亀井派の学者たちと交流した。〔第36回新収蔵品展〕
