Description
西区北崎で使用された盆提灯。福岡市域では、初盆の際に親類が博多提灯とよばれる大型の提灯を贈る風習がある。盆の期間中は縁側や玄関先に吊しておき、盆の送り火とともに燃やされるほか、地域の盆行事で使用される。近年は住宅構造の変化にともない飾る家も減っている。〔第36回新収蔵品展〕
