魚を乾燥させるための道具。イオとは魚（ウオ）のこと。数尾の魚を竹棒に通したものを、いくつも藁縄にかけて使う。イオグシに刺した魚は軒先などに吊して乾燥させた。イオグシが使われている光景は今やみられなくなった。〔No.512 島とくらし―玄界島―〕
