Description
藁製の縄。海士の腰に付けるベルトのようなもので、潜水漁の際に使われた。ハチオは、褌がわりの手拭いを固定したり、縄の太い部分にイソガネなどの漁具をさすなどして用いた。ウエットスーツの普及とともに姿を消していった。海士の縄は三つよりでつくられるのが特徴。〔No.512 島とくらし―玄界島―〕
