網に浮力を与える漁具。ブイともよばれる。定置網などで網を海中に保持するときなどに使われる。この浮子はガラス製で網袋に入れて使われた。近年では、夜間漁に対応した電気浮子や合成樹脂でできた色鮮やかな浮玉が多く用いられている。〔No.512 島とくらし―玄界島―〕
