Description
This tea bowl depicts quails in a field of millet. As this is traditionally associated with the fall harvest, it would be appropriate for use in tea gatherings held during the fall. Pottery like this likely led to the eventual development of [nishikide] around the mid-18th century, which is characterized by brilliant gold decoration on overglaze enamel.
