Description
Okuda Eisen (1753–1811) was one of the first artisans to create porcelain in Kyoto. He made this bowl in a style influenced by [kosometsuke] (old blue-and-white), a type of imported Chinese porcelain. This porcelain had uneven, low-quality glazes, which Eisen intentionally recreated in this bowl.
