Description
Sets like this are called [gogusoku] (five implements) and are used to make offerings of incense, flowers, and light to Buddhist deities. This example features intricate surface decoration and handles shaped like mythical creatures. It was created by the artisan Murata Seimin (1761–1837), who specialized in casting metal using wax molds.
