Bugaku Mask: Taishōtoku 舞楽面 退宿徳ぶがくめん たいしょうとく

Description

This mask was worn for the [bugaku] performance called [taishōtoku], which was introduced from Korea and is performed by four dancers. The mask has an inscription on the back indicating that it was used in performances at the Niutsuhime Shrine, south of Osaka.
