Description
阿古陀形の名称は、兜鉢が南方渡来の阿古陀瓜＠うり＠に似ていることに由来します。室町時代後期の西日本では、兜鉢の間数＠けんすう＠が少なく簡素な仕立ての阿古陀形筋兜が実戦で多用されました。本品はその典型作で、奈良甲冑師の春田＠はるた＠派の作とみられます。奈良・法隆寺西円堂＠さいえんどう＠の伝来品です。
