Description
束帯姿で上畳に座する織田信長。右手に笏を持ち、左脇に腰刀を佩く。上部に記された大徳寺総見院初代住持・古溪宗陳（1532-97）の賛から、天正11年（1583）信長一周忌のために制作されたことが判明します。面長で大きな眼、立派な髭、端正な顔貌は在りし日の信長の姿を今に伝えるとともに、束帯姿は信長の神格化を示すものです。平成26-27年度に行われた解体修理で画面の汚れが除去されたことで、束帯に施されていた木瓜紋（織田家の家紋）が明瞭になりました。信長が安土城内に建てた摠見寺伝来品。 【南蛮美術】
