Description
『日本南極探検』とは、南極探検後援会が南極探検20周年（1930年）を記念して、1910-1912年にMパテー商会技師、田泉保直（たいずみやすなお）他が撮影したフィルムを編集し、中間字幕を挿入して完成させた作品である。探検隊員の顔ぶれや彼らがペンギンと戯れる姿、そして南極探検上陸の模様から探検隊の帰港までが記録されている。当バージョンは日本南極探検40周年記念会が1950年に作成し、翌年に文部省が購入したダイジェスト版（19分）である。
