Flora Japonica was a botanical encyclopedia compiled on the basis of specimens collected in Japan and sketched by Philipp Franz von Siebold, a physician and naturalist in the late Edo period. The encyclopedia comprises two volumes. After being expelled from Japan in 1829 as a result of the Siebold Incident and returning to Germany, Siebold requested Joseph Gerhard Zuccarini (1797–1848), professor of botany at the University of Munich, to conduct research on the collection of plants he brought from Japan. The two coauthored Flora Japonica. The text consists of entries in Latin and descriptions in French. The plants were classified by Professor Zuccarini. The first volume (1835–1841) features ornamental foliage plants and useful plants, and the second volume (1842–1870) features flowering trees and shrubs, evergreen trees, and conifers. The two volumes contain a total of 150 color illustrations. Siebold passed away before the editing of the encyclopedia was completed, and Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel (1811–1871), director of the National Herbarium of the Netherlands, took over the project. Flora Japonica is the first scientific work to introduce the flora of Japan to Europe. It is highly valued from botanical, ethnographic, and cultural perspectives, and also as a work of art for its botanical drawings.

    江戸時代後期の絵師、川原慶賀（1786生）の『草木花実写真図譜』から、レンギョウの図。慶賀はシーボルトに動植物、風景、風俗の写生を依頼されて描いており、本書にも『日本植物誌』と共通する図を多く見ることができる。

    『泰西本草名疏』の草稿。筆者の伊藤圭介自筆。シーボルトと本草学者賀来佐一郎の書き入れがある。内容は、文政11年(1828)長崎にてシーボルトから贈られたツュンベリーの『日本植物誌』（Flora Iaponica）をもとに日本産植物の学名（ラテン語）をＡＢＣ順に並べ、対応する和名と漢名を記したもの。伊藤圭介は名古屋生まれの植物学者。24歳の時、長崎でシーボルトから博物学の教えを受けた。

    天保12年（1841）に京都の書肆吉田治兵衛が出した、オランダ語からの翻訳書、蘭学書の販売目録。伊藤圭介の『泰西本草名疏』の名も見える。
