Tokyo Gakugei University is a national university of education, aiming to develop talented educators who possess rich creativity and practical classroom skills backed by both advanced specialized knowledge and well-rounded general knowledge. Tokyo Gakugei University collects and makes available to the public digital resources as a result of its educational and research activities, such as the library's collection of textbooks and other materials from the Edo and Meiji Periods based on the collection of its predecessor school, as well as materials related to the university's history held by Office of Tokyo Gakugei University Archives and an archive of campus scenes.
