The Kyoto Prefectural Library and Archives, which comprehensively collected, preserved, and provided public with an access to materials related to Kyoto for over half a century, has become a new facility known as the Kyoto Institute, Library and Archives, which is regarded as a new center for cultural and academic exchange located in the Kitayama area, Kyoto, with newly equipped functions such as research support, learning, and exchange on the history and culture of Kyoto.
