The Fukui Prefectural Archives is a facility that collects, preserves, and makes widely available to the public official documents, archives, and administrative publications, which are valuable materials for understanding the history of Fukui Prefecture, and supports historical research and lifelong learning. The archives, which were researched and photographed during the compilation of the "History of Fukui Prefecture" project conducted from 1978 to 1997, are also catalogued, organized, and made available to the public. It is also in charge of the Digital Archive Fukui, a joint digital archive of Fukui Prefecture.
