Keio University Department of Archaeology and Ethnology, Faculty of Letters

東京都港区

Let's explore history and culture through fieldwork and objects! The department of Archaeology and Ethnology at Keio University has accumulated some 200,000 materials and specimens, including national treasures, through excavations and ethnographic research since the Taisho period (1912-1926), so you can come into contact with the real thing, not replicas. Students can also experience the excavation and collection of valuable materials by participating in fieldwork conducted by the department's teaching staff in various locations in Japan, Palestine, Russia and Oceania.
