The Ueda City Maruko Museum of the Homeland aims to collect, preserve, and exhibit materials necessary for a proper understanding of local history and culture. The main theme of the permanent exhibition is "Development History of the Yodakubo area centering on Maruko Town", with archaeology and history (Paleolithic - Edo) in the first exhibition room and modern instrumental silk manufacturing (late Edo - modern) in the second exhibition room.
