Ueda City Art Museum

The Ueda City Art Museum aims to be "an art museum rooted in the community with a rich local color," and focuses on collecting and exhibiting works by artists closely associated with Ueda City, such as Yamamoto Kanae, the father of creative printmaking, and Harry K. Shigeta, an internationally renowned commercial photographer. The museum's collection of over 6,000 works, including the world's largest collection of large lithograph prints, covers a variety of genres, including Western painting, sculpture, photography, Japanese painting, and Nomin Bihutsu(farmers' art). The museum also holds a wide variety of exhibitions focusing on modern and contemporary art.
