Showa-kan/National Showa Memorial Museum is a national facility for collecting, preserving, and exhibiting historical materials related to the hardships of citizen's lives (including bereaved families) during and after the World War II. We provide an opportunity for the future generations to know these hardships. Showa-kan opened in March 1999 and is currently managed by the Japanese War Bereaved Families Association, which is commissioned by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
