Fukuoka City Museum opened in October 1990 as a museum for research and exhibition of local history and folklore. In 2013, the permanent exhibition was renewed. The museum presents in various ways the distinctive history of the region and the lives of its inhabitants, which have been created through exchanges of people, goods, and culture with Asia.
