Description
「伊達家の三代藩主・伊達綱宗が吉原の高尾太夫に魂を奪われ、廓での遊蕩にふけって隠居させられた。これはお家乗っ取りをたくらむ家老原田甲斐と黒幕である伊達兵部ら一味の仕掛けによるものであった」。江戸時代前期に伊達氏の仙台藩で起こったお家騒動、いわゆる「伊達騒動」について、巷ではこのような物語がつくられ、歌舞伎でもそのような筋書きでたびたび上演された。ただし同時代の事件などは題材とすることが禁止されていたため、ここでは鎌倉時代の物語とされている。本図は、吉原に入り浸っていた足利頼兼（伊達綱宗）が、恋する高尾太夫が自分を裏切ったのではないかとの疑いを抱いて問いただしている場面である。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums
The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
