Foliated Basin with Design of Figures, Over-glaze Enamels 五彩人物図面盆ごさいじんぶつずめんぼん

Description

轆轤成形の後、素地が生乾きの状態で内型に押し当てて成形する印坏によって作られた面盆。この作品は青と緑を基調とした五彩で、内面に人物図、外面に花卉唐草文、八宝文が描かれている。内面の底部に老子出関の図が配され、立ち上がり部と口縁部には童子を連れた人物の図様が繰り返し描かれている。同じ図様の反復、機械的な彩色は万暦期の特徴の一つ。底裏には、ニ重圏線内に3字2行の青花銘。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums

　The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. 　JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
