Ewer with Lobed Body, White Porcelain 白磁瓜形水注はくじうりがたすいちゅう

Description

10本の縦筋をいれた瓜形の胴部には、細長い注口と、平紐状の把手が付く。紐などを結んで使用するために蓋と把手には環が付いている。良質の胎土の上には、底周辺まで、やや青みがかった透明釉が施されている。この青みがかった白磁は、青白磁とも呼ばれるもので、宋時代～元時代にかけて、後に青花磁器の生産で知られる景徳鎮窯を中心とする地域で盛んに作られた。蓋の摘みは後補。底裏には、4箇所に大きな目跡が残されている。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums

　The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. 　JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
