Sailing Boats - Evening, from "The Seto Inland Sea Series" 帆船　夕（「瀬戸内海集」より）はんせん　ゆう　せとないかいしゅう　より

Description

大正11年（1920）、渡邊版画店より出版された《帆船》（3部作）に連なる作品で、「瀬戸内海集1」に収録されたもの。本シリーズ制作の翌年、第8回帝展には《帆船》（4部作）を発表している。日本アルプスなどを描いた山のシリーズと対照をなす水のシリーズの代表作。同じ版木を使い、異なった色を用いて帆船が浮かぶ海の情景を6種の時間帯に分けて描いている。こうした試みを作家自ら「別刷」と称した。

The Japanese Council of Art Museums

　The Japanese Council of Art Museums (JCAM) supports the accomplishment of mission of art museums and seeks to assist art museums in fully basing their activities in a social context. The organization holds an annual meeting, memorial forums at annual meetings, lectures, Curatorial Study Meetings, and Study Group activities every year. The information and reports generated by these various activities are then expected to be shared with member museums, the greater art-related world and the general public. 　JCAM was founded in 1952 with the aim of providing a forum for art museums in Japan to think and act together. The organization was registered as a general incorporated association on April 1st, 2020 and includes over 450 members (full members, individual members and supporting members).
