Description
江戸時代文化年間、江戸で鋸鍛冶として名を知られ信州鋸の元祖と云われる藤井甚九郎が、高島藩の招きにより諏訪に移住し始めた藩御用の鋸の製造が起源といわれ、鍛造に適した八ヶ岳山麓の気候と豊富に産出する鍛冶用松炭により発達した。伝統に基づいた手づくりの鋸で、品質や耐久性に優れ、品質と切れ味の良さにおいて全国的に有名。「信州鋸」として昭和58年10月13日長野県伝統的工芸品に知事指定。
