修験者が行った「験比べ」と夏の疫病除けの祭り、京都の祇園際に由来し、江戸時代初期から行われてきたといわれている。子ども達の灯篭行列と若者達の神輿がそれぞれ村を練り歩き、大日堂へ向かう。神輿は灯篭行列に突っ込んだり、大日堂前の炎の周りを勢いよく回ることから「暴れ神輿」と呼ばれ、祭りは「炎の奇祭」とも呼ばれる。【開催日】７月１９日に近い週末【開催場所】内山地区
