山形県のほぼ中央に位置する湯殿山。月山、羽黒山と共に出羽三山のひとつに数えられています。古くから信仰の山として栄え、かつては多くの修験者たちによって過酷な修行が行われていました。現在も、神秘的で厳かな雰囲気を漂わせる神聖な山です。
