数多くの神話が伝わる島根県出雲市。その中でも有名なのは、、大国主大神（おおくにぬしのおおかみ）をまつる出雲大社。古事記や日本書紀に、その神殿の様子が記されている、たいへん古いお社（やしろ）です。２００８年から、およそ６０年に一度行う、本殿の大修復が始まりました。
