Description

北海道東部に位置する摩周（ましゅう）湖。周囲２０キロ、最も深いところは水深２００メートル以上にも達します。湖水の透明度はおよそ２０メートル。日本でもっとも透明度の高い湖の一つで、北海道の先住民であるアイヌの人々は「神の湖」と呼んできました。よく晴れた冬の摩周湖は、白一色の中、湖水の深い青が際立ちます。
