Carabus kurilensis yoteizanus (Ishikawa & Miyashita, 2000)This subspecies of Carabus kurilensis inhabits the summit of Mt. Yotei and its environs, which are designated as a National Park Special Protection Zone. It has adapted to the cold climate and is considered to be a relic of the Ice Age.
