Pottery vessel unearthed at the Seizan Site 聖山遺跡出土土器せいざんいせきしゅつどどき

Description

This deep pot dating from the Epi-Jomon period was unearthed at the Seizan Site in Nanae Town. The rim has a gentle wavy shape, and the body features combined circular and arc-shaped patterns made with slightly raised lines. The areas surrounded by lines have punctations made by sharp pointed objects and banded cord patterns. The part near the bottom consists only of banded cord patterns. This pot is thought to correspond to Kohoku C2-type pottery.
