Description
This deep, pointed-bottom pot dating from the Initial Jomon period was unearthed at the Kokuritsu-ryoyojo-ura Site in Nanae Town. It features a streak pattern made with the ventral edge of a bivalve shell. The lip has impressions of sticks wrapped with twisted cords (rakujotai-akkon-mon), and the rim has two tiers of crescent-impressed patterns (tsumegata-mon). This pot is thought to be among old Jomon pottery vessels in southern Hokkaido.
