Pottery vessel unearthed at the Narukawa Right Bank Site 鳴川右岸遺跡出土土器なるかわうがんいせきしゅつどどき
Description
This deep pot dating from the Middle Jomon period was unearthed at the Narukawa Right Bank Site in Nanae Town. It is in the shape of a flat-bottomed bucket and is decorated with ujo-jomon, or feather-shaped cord markings. The upper body is quite decorative, as it is appliqued with clay strings. The rim is shaped like four mountains. The pot corresponds to new Ento (cylindrical) type pottery.
