Description
若い武家女性の夏の衣料。上質の麻布に描絵（かきえ）と刺繍、摺匹田（すりびった）（鹿の子絞りの模様を型紙で簡易に摺（す）る方法）で模様を表わす。鳳凰は中国の伝説上の瑞鳥（ずいちょう）で、桐の樹に住むとされる。吉祥模様として日本でも好まれた。内側に白麻布の重ねがつく。
