Description
This replica of a 12th-century armor was crafted by modern artisans. A Shinto shrine in Tokyo houses the original, which may have been presented as a sacred offering by the samurai general Hatakeyama Shigetada (1164–1205). The replica is meant to show how the original would have looked in its initial, undamaged condition 800 years ago.
